The Rising Auto Story
Rising Auto, known in China as Feifan, was launched by state-owned SAIC Motor in 2020 as a premium electric vehicle brand, initially under the "R" badge before being spun into a separate operation in 2021. Its lineup included the R7 SUV and F7 sedan, notable for offering battery-swap capability. The brand struggled to gain traction in China's crowded premium EV market.
Current Lineup
Amid weak sales, SAIC reintegrated the Rising Auto operation back into its passenger vehicle division in the mid-2020s.
