Brand History

The Rinspeed Story

Rinspeed was founded in 1979 by Swiss entrepreneur Frank M. Rinderknecht, initially as a tuner and importer specializing in modified Porsches and other performance cars. The company became best known for its imaginative concept cars unveiled almost annually at the Geneva Motor Show, including the sQuba, a functioning submersible car inspired by James Bond, and numerous early autonomous-driving and modular mobility studies.
