Brand History

The RUF Story

RUF Automobile grew from a Bavarian garage founded by Alois Ruf Sr. in 1939, which under his son Alois Ruf Jr. became the most celebrated independent developer of Porsche-based cars. Recognized by German authorities as a manufacturer in its own right, RUF builds cars on its own chassis numbers, and its 1987 CTR "Yellowbird" was famously clocked as the world's fastest production car of its era. Later models like the CTR3 and the carbon-chassis CTR Anniversary continued the tradition.
