Brand History

The Royal Enfield Story

Royal Enfield began building motorcycles in 1901 in Redditch, England, under the slogan "Made Like A Gun," reflecting its origins supplying arms components. Its Bullet, in production since the 1930s, became the longest-lived motorcycle model name in history, and Indian assembly that began in Madras in the 1950s outlasted the original British company, which closed in 1970. Under Eicher Motors, the Indian firm transformed from a heritage curiosity into a global leader in mid-size motorcycles.
