Brand History
The Tucker Story
The Tucker Corporation was established by entrepreneur Preston Tucker in 1944 to build a radically advanced postwar car. The 1948 Tucker 48 featured a rear-mounted flat-six engine, a central 'cyclops' headlight that turned with the steering, and pioneering safety features including a padded dash and pop-out windshield. Only 51 cars were built before the company collapsed in 1949 amid an SEC fraud investigation; Tucker was acquitted, but the company could not be saved.

Current Lineup
Tucker is defunct, but surviving Tucker 48s are among the most prized American collector cars, and the story was popularized by the 1988 film 'Tucker: The Man and His Dream.'
