The VinFast Story
VinFast is a Vietnamese automaker founded in 2017 as a subsidiary of Vingroup, the country's largest private conglomerate, by billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong. It became Vietnam's first volume car manufacturer, initially building gasoline models based on licensed BMW platforms before pivoting entirely to electric vehicles. The company listed on the Nasdaq in 2023 and has pursued aggressive international expansion, including a planned factory in North Carolina.
