Brand History
The Willys-Overland Story
Willys-Overland was formed when John North Willys acquired the Overland Automobile company, incorporating as Willys-Overland in Toledo, Ohio in 1908; by the 1910s it was the second-largest US automaker behind Ford. The company's defining achievement was the World War II Jeep, the quarter-ton military 4x4 it mass-produced alongside Ford, which it converted into the civilian CJ series after the war. Willys was purchased by Kaiser in 1953, and the Jeep brand it created eventually passed through AMC and Chrysler to today's Stellantis.

Current Lineup
The Willys-Overland name is defunct as a manufacturer, though it survives through the Jeep brand, which still uses "Willys" as a trim name on the Wrangler.
