Origins
The F22 of 2022 was Donkervoort's declaration of full independence: the first car since the company's founding to abandon the Seven-derived silhouette entirely — a wider, carbon-tubbed two-seater with enclosed-wheel bodywork of its own language, still powered by Audi's five-cylinder turbo at 500 horsepower in around 750 kilograms. Ex-GT racing input shaped a chassis targeting 2G cornering; a targa roof acknowledged that even extremists appreciate weather options. The launch series sold out quickly at around a quarter-million euros. Named for founder Joop's birth year meeting son Denis's leadership, the F22 answered the question shadowing every Seven-adjacent maker — what comes after homage? — with the only sustainable answer: identity, engineered to the same fanatical standard.
