The Yaoguang of 2022 — named for a star in the Big Dipper — was Exeed's most complete statement: a mid-size crossover flagship carrying Chery's newest architecture, four-wheel drive, and a specification sheet — chip-dense cockpit, advanced assistance — engineered to demonstrate that the group's premium line deserved the adjective. Domestic reception improved with the substance; export versions extended the brand's premium-value push. The Yaoguang evidenced the maturation pattern across China's aspirational marques: third-generation products closing the credibility gap their founders had announced prematurely. For Chery, the model confirmed Exeed's role — the group's forward laboratory, now shipping conviction rather than intent. Third attempts, in China's brand wars, are where credibility finally compounds.
