The Sterra ET of 2024 gave Exeed's electric line its SUV: a full-size crossover in battery-electric and range-extended forms on the E0X architecture, with the lidar-and-chip specification China's segment leaders had made mandatory and family packaging its buyers actually purchased. Range-extension acknowledged charging-desert realities beyond the coastal cities — pragmatism Chery's inland dealer empire understood. The ET aimed at the Li Auto-defined family-SUV heartland, the market's richest contested ground. Its progress tracks the SOE-adjacent giants' electric normalisation: platforms amortised, technology procured at scale, and the startups' former monopoly on desirability dissolving one substantial launch at a time. The family SUV is where China's EV war will be won, and the ET is Chery's proper soldier in it.
