Origins

Kamaz introduced the 4326 in 1995 as a two-axle all-wheel-drive rough-terrain truck, shorter and more manoeuvrable than the 4310 and intended for military, fire and utility work where a three-axle chassis was more truck than the job required.

Design and engineering

Its wider fame came from competition. Kamaz-Master, the factory's racing operation, used the 4326 designation for its Dakar rally trucks through the 2000s, and the team became the dominant force in the truck category, winning the event repeatedly. The rally vehicles share little more than a silhouette and a name with the production truck, but the association has been worth a great deal to Kamaz, which has continued to build the 4326 alongside its successor, the 4350 family.
