The 530 of 2013 updated Lifan's compact-saloon offer: conventional three-box styling, the group's fours, and pricing tuned for the export markets — Russia foremost — where Lifan had become one of China's most visible passenger brands. It served taxi fleets and family buyers across the developing world while domestic competition intensified beyond the company's resources. Within five years the group's debt crisis would overwhelm it, ending in bankruptcy restructuring and Geely's arrival. The 530 documents the plateau before the fall: the export machine still functioning, the products still adequate, and the finances — as court filings would reveal — already failing beneath the volume. Export receivables, it turned out, could not service domestic debts forever.
