Origins
Luxeed launched in 2023 with the S7: the first product of Huawei's partnership with Chery — a large, sleek electric saloon carrying the full HarmonyOS cockpit and ADS assistance stack, pitched explicitly against Tesla's Model S mystique at half the price. Early production stumbles at Chery's lines slowed the start; demand recovered as deliveries stabilised, the Huawei retail machine doing its accustomed work. The S7 extended the alliance model's proof beyond Seres — second partner, same playbook, comparable pull — confirming that the technology giant's automotive gravity was portable. For Chery it opened the premium-EV door its own badges had struggled to unlock. The Model S comparison was marketing; the queue outside the Huawei store was the argument.
