Origins

Zenvo's earlier cars used heavily modified General Motors V8s, which was the sensible choice for a company of its size and always slightly undercut its claims to be a serious constructor. The Aurora, unveiled in 2023, removes that objection. At its centre is Mjølner — named for Thor's hammer — a 6.6-litre quad-turbocharged V12 developed for Zenvo with Mahle Powertrain, a flat-plane engine designed to rev hard and paired with hybrid assistance through a seven-speed paddle-shift transmission.

Design and engineering

The car comes in two forms, which is unusual for a maker of this scale. The Agil is the lighter, rear-mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive track-focused version; the Tur is the four-wheel-drive grand tourer, with more hybrid power and a chassis tuned for distance. Both use a carbon monocoque, and Christian Brandt's design is the most resolved thing the company has produced.

In production

Production at Præstø is due to begin in 2026, in the tiny numbers Zenvo has always worked in. As the successor to the TS1 GT, the Aurora represents the point at which a Danish hypercar maker stopped adapting other people's hardware and commissioned its own.
