Brand History
The Lincoln Story
Lincoln was founded in 1917 by Henry M. Leland, who had earlier founded Cadillac, initially to build Liberty aircraft engines during the First World War. It moved into luxury cars in 1920 and was bought by Ford in 1922, becoming Ford's prestige division. Landmark models include the Zephyr and Continental of the 1930s and 1940s, and Lincoln limousines have long served American presidents.
