Brand History
The Mitsuoka Story
Mitsuoka was founded in 1968 by Susumu Mitsuoka in Toyama, Japan, and evolved from a repair and sales business into a coachbuilder producing retro-styled cars on modern mass-market underpinnings. Models such as the Viewt, styled after the classic Jaguar Mk 2 on Nissan Micra mechanicals, made it famous, and in 1996 it was recognized as Japan's tenth passenger car manufacturer.
