Origins

The Like of 2010 took Mitsuoka's costume-craft to the electric microcar: based on kei-class EV underpinnings, it wore the company's retro face — round lamps, chrome whiskers — on a tiny commuter aimed at Japan's short-hop urban duty, fleets and the merely charmed. Range and pace were city-car modest; the point, as ever with Toyama's artisans, was that transport need not be anonymous. Production stayed small, the model a footnote beside the Viewt's decades, but it demonstrated the house adapting its thesis to the battery age early. When electrification later homogenised design across the industry, Mitsuoka's little experiment read as prophecy: the technology would change entirely, and the appetite for personality would not.
