Brand History
The Scout Motors Story
Scout Motors was established in 2022 by Volkswagen Group to revive the Scout name from the International Harvester off-roaders of 1961-1980, rights to which came with VW's involvement in truck maker Navistar. The new company unveiled the electric Traveler SUV and Terra pickup in 2024, designed in America with rugged, body-on-frame character, and began constructing a large factory in Blythewood, South Carolina.
