Brand History
The SEAT Story
SEAT (Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo) was founded in 1950 by the Spanish state with Fiat assistance to motorize post-war Spain, and its license-built Fiats, especially the SEAT 600, became symbols of the country's economic recovery. After breaking with Fiat in the early 1980s, SEAT was progressively acquired by Volkswagen Group, becoming its Spanish arm with models such as the Ibiza and León built at Martorell.
