Brand History
The Scion Story
Scion was created by Toyota in 2003 as a youth-oriented brand for the North American market, selling distinctive, affordably priced models such as the boxy xB, the tC coupe, and later the FR-S sports car developed with Subaru. Pioneering fixed pricing and heavy customization options, the brand initially succeeded in lowering the average age of Toyota buyers, but sales declined after the late-2000s recession.
