Brand History

The WEY Story

WEY is a premium SUV brand launched in 2016 by Great Wall Motor and named after the company's founder and chairman, Jack Wey (Wei Jianjun). It was positioned as China's first homegrown luxury SUV marque, debuting with the VV5 and VV7 before shifting toward plug-in hybrid models. The brand's vertical-bar logo is said to reference a flagpole landmark in Baoding, Great Wall's home city.
