Brand History

The ZAZ Story

ZAZ (Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant) is a Ukrainian automaker that began car production in 1958 in Zaporizhzhia, in the Soviet era. It was known for the rear-engined Zaporozhets microcars, affordable vehicles that motorized many Soviet families, and later the front-wheel-drive Tavria hatchback. After Ukrainian independence, ZAZ built its own models such as the Sens and Lanos derivatives and assembled foreign brands under license.
