Launched in 2004, the Discover slotted between the cheapest 100 cc commuters and the sporting Pulsar, offering slightly more comfort, a little more performance and the fuel economy that decides most motorcycle purchases in India. Engines ranged from 94.4 cc to 144.8 cc, all air-cooled four-stroke singles with five-speed gearboxes.

It sold in very large numbers through the second half of the 2000s and gave Bajaj a strong position in the volume commuter class it had previously conceded to rivals. As the range multiplied into a confusing number of capacities, the model lost its clarity, and Bajaj retired it in 2020 when the switch to BS-VI emissions standards forced an expensive redevelopment of every engine and the company chose to consolidate around the Platina and Pulsar lines instead.
