Origins
Dallara built everyone else's racing cars for half a century — Indycar's entire grid, Formula 3 generations, prototypes beyond counting — before Gian Paolo Dallara permitted himself the Stradale in 2017: a carbon-tub barchetta weighing 855 kilograms, powered by Ford's 2.3-litre EcoBoost at 400 horsepower, with aerodynamics generating up to 820 kilograms of downforce — racing-car cornering physics with number plates. Configurable from open speedster to winged track coupé, it was engineered in Varano de' Melegari with the obsessiveness the company sold to others. Around 600 were planned; the founder called it his life's dream realised at eighty. The Stradale matters as signature: the quiet master of modern racing structure finally writing under its own name, and the handwriting proving as precise as the reputation.
