Origins
Drako Motors launched the GTE in 2019 with a specific thesis: electric performance was being measured wrongly. Its four independent motors — 1,200 horsepower combined — enabled torque vectoring of racing-simulator precision, the San Jose company arguing that per-wheel control, not straight-line violence, was the EV's real gift. The body and glasshouse derived from the Fisker Karma's elegant shell, re-engineered beneath; 25 units at 1.25 million dollars targeted collector-technologists. Track demonstrations emphasised drift-angle control no mechanical differential could match. Production stayed vanishingly small, the succeeding Dragon SUV bolder still in claims. The GTE's contribution was intellectual: an early, emphatic productisation of software-defined handling — the argument every fast EV now makes, made first at boutique scale.
