Origins

The Minyi of 2003 refreshed Hafei's microvan core: the boxy, rear-driven people-and-cargo movers — kei-van engineering acclimatised to Chinese roads — that formed the company's volume backbone and one of the nation's default commercial tools. Through fifteen years of production the Minyi hauled market stalls, rural families and courier startups, its ubiquity invisible in the way of all genuinely essential machines. Changan's absorption of Hafei folded the operation into the microvan giant's empire. The Minyi documents the class at maturity: China's own Kei-car moment, domesticated — millions of tiny vans underwriting commerce the statistics tracked only as GDP, one overloaded journey at a time. No museum collects them, which is how you know they were genuinely everywhere.
