Brand History

The Hafei Story

Hafei (Harbin Hafei Automobile) emerged from the Harbin aircraft manufacturing industry in northeastern China and became known for microvans and small passenger cars. Several of its models, such as the Lobo city car, featured styling by Italy's Pininfarina, which gave the small automaker unusual design credibility. In 2009 Hafei was brought under the control of Changan as part of a consolidation of Chinese state-owned automakers.
