Origins
The n7 of 2023 resurrected Luxgen through Taiwan's mightiest industrial name: built on Foxconn's Model C reference design — the electronics giant's bid to become the carmakers' carmaker — it offered five-to-seven-seat electric practicality at prices that stunned the local market. Pre-orders in the tens of thousands made it Taiwan's best-selling EV on launch, transforming Yulon's struggling marque into the island's electric volume leader overnight. For Foxconn the n7 was proof-of-concept with global implications; for Luxgen, salvation by adjacency. The car itself — competent, roomy, aggressively priced — mattered less than its supply chain: Taiwan's national brand reborn as the first production evidence that phone-assembly economics could invade the automobile. Its waiting list did more for Taiwanese EV confidence than a decade of policy papers.
