Origins

The RXC of 2013 gave Radical's customers the prototype fantasy complete: a closed coupé with the stance and canopy of a Le Mans racer, initially Ford V6-powered with turbocharged versions following, generating downforce claimed at more than the car's weight. Road-legal versions existed in Britain for the determined, but the RXC's natural home was the circuit, where it offered endurance-racer aerodynamics at club-racing cost. Turbo variants pushed past 600 horsepower; GT3-adjacent racing followed. The model answered the marque's one aesthetic criticism — that open Radicals looked like kit cars to the uninitiated — with unmistakable seriousness. In the RXC, the customer who had risen through SR3s and SR8s finally got the silhouette their lap times had earned.
