Origins
The Tank of 2017 transplanted Rezvani's theatrical instincts onto Jeep Wrangler underpinnings: an aggressively armoured-looking SUV whose option list made the look literal — ballistic glass, body armour, smoke screens, electrified door handles, thermal night vision — with Hemi V8 power up to the 707-horsepower Hellcat-engined Tank X. Marketed to celebrities, security-conscious wealth and the apocalypse-curious, it sold in the hundreds at six-figure prices, spawning the larger Hercules and successive generations. Critics noted the base vehicle's familiarity; customers were purchasing presence, and the Tank delivered more per square metre than anything short of actual military surplus. It completed Rezvani's niche: Hollywood's idea of survivability, built in Irvine, financed by exactly the anxieties it styled.
