Origins
TechArt's GTsport programme, building on the 997 Turbo from 2006, represented the Leonberg company's performance summit of the era: forced-induction development lifting output toward 660 horsepower, carbon aerodynamic elements generating genuine downforce, and chassis electronics retuned to deploy it all on road or circuit. Unlike single-purpose tuner specials, the GTsport retained the Turbo's all-weather, all-wheel-drive civility — TechArt's signature insistence that extremity and daily function coexist. Limited-series construction with full manufacturer documentation placed the cars closer to factory specials than modifications, at prices to match. The GTsport line demonstrated why TechArt outlasted its flashier decade-mates: engineering depth over decal count, and a clientele that valued warranty-grade wildness. In the tuner wars of the 2000s, that restraint proved the rarest specification of all, and the one that kept customers returning.
