Origins

The 009 is Zeekr's luxury MPV, launched for the Chinese market in January 2023 and designed by Jon Rådbrink under Stefan Sielaff. It is a large five-door minivan with a front motor or dual motors, a slab-sided body with a heavy chrome grille treatment, and an interior built around individual reclining seats in the second row — the configuration Chinese executive buyers expect, and the segment where the Toyota Alphard had long taken the money.

Design and engineering

What gave it technical credibility was its battery. The 009 was among the first production vehicles to use CATL's Qilin cell-to-pack construction, which raised the usable capacity within a given volume and allowed unusually long range for a vehicle of this size and shape.

In production

A higher-specification Grand version followed with a four-seat cabin and an even more elaborate rear compartment. The 009 also became one of Zeekr's export models, appearing in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, where large luxury MPVs sell in ways they never have in Europe.
