Origins

Zinoro was BMW Brilliance's China-only new-energy marque — created to satisfy joint-venture EV policy while protecting the parent badge — and the 60H of 2017 was its second act: a plug-in hybrid based on the X1 long-wheelbase, offered primarily through leasing and fleet channels with styling lightly distanced from Munich's. Like its predecessor 1E, it existed more for regulatory citizenship than showroom conquest; volumes stayed administrative. The experiment faded as BMW moved to sell electrified cars under its own roundel. Zinoro's brief life documents a policy era: when Beijing's rules briefly summoned parallel brands into being across the industry — automotive ghosts of compliance, of which the 60H remains the most tangible.
