Brand History
The Autobianchi Story
Autobianchi was created in 1955 as a joint venture between Bianchi, Fiat, and Pirelli, building upmarket small cars in Desio near Milan. Fiat used the marque to test innovations on models such as the Primula, an early exponent of the front-wheel-drive hatchback layout, while the stylish Bianchina and long-running A112 became its best-known products. The brand was progressively folded into Lancia and disappeared in the 1990s.
