Brand History

The Chevrolet Story

Racing driver Louis Chevrolet and GM founder William Durant launched Chevrolet in 1911; within a decade it was GM's volume brand and Ford's fiercest rival. Chevy gave America the small-block V8, the Corvette — America's sports car since 1953 — the Camaro, and the Silverado pickup line that anchors the brand today.
