Brand History
The Polestar Story
Polestar began as a Swedish racing team campaigning Volvos, later becoming Volvo's official performance partner and tuning arm. In 2017 Volvo Cars and its parent Geely relaunched Polestar as a standalone electric performance brand headquartered in Gothenburg. Its first model was the limited-run Polestar 1 hybrid coupé, followed by the volume-selling Polestar 2 fastback, and the company listed on Nasdaq in 2022.
