Brand History
The UAZ Story
UAZ (Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant) was established in 1941 when Soviet automotive production was relocated eastward during World War II. The plant became the USSR's principal maker of light four-wheel-drive vehicles, producing the legendary UAZ-469 off-roader and the 'Bukhanka' (loaf) van, both used extensively by the military and in remote regions, with designs that remained in production for decades with minimal change.
