Brand History

The Vector Story

Vector traces back to Vehicle Design Force, started by designer Jerry Wiegert in Los Angeles in the 1970s with the ambition of building an American hypercar to rival Europe's best. The angular, aerospace-inspired Vector W8, produced in the early 1990s with a twin-turbo V8 and around 17 customer cars built, became a poster icon. A hostile takeover by Indonesia's Megatech in 1993 led to the Lamborghini V12-powered M12, after which the company faded amid financial and legal turmoil.

Current Lineup

Vector is essentially inactive, though Wiegert promoted successor projects for years before his death, and original W8s are now sought-after collector cars.
