Origins
The M12 of 1995 was what Vector became after the takeover: Megatech, which also controlled Lamborghini, mated a Diablo V12 and drivetrain to a developed Vector-style body and chassis built in Florida. On paper it rationalised the marque — proven Italian mechanicals, established supercar performance, the wild styling retained. In practice quality struggled, the business burned money, and around 14 were completed before production stopped in 1999; a final SRV8 prototype closed the era. Purists never accepted it as a 'real' Vector, which is half its interest — the M12 poses the question of what the brand actually was once its founder's obsession was removed. The market's answer has softened with time: rarity forgives much, and any running M12 now draws a curious crowd.
