Brand History

The Wuling Story

Wuling is a Chinese vehicle brand from Liuzhou, Guangxi, whose passenger vehicle business took shape through SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), a 2002 joint venture between SAIC Motor, General Motors, and Guangxi Automobile Group. It became famous for inexpensive microvans that dominated rural China, and later for the Hongguang Mini EV, a tiny electric city car that became one of the world's best-selling EVs after its 2020 launch.
