Origins

Wuling's small EVs made their reputation on being minimal. The Bingo, launched in 2023, is what came next: a subcompact five-door hatchback with a front motor driving the front wheels, softly styled with rounded lights and pastel colours, and equipped to a standard that a buyer trading up from a Mini EV would recognise as a real car — more range, more space, a proper interior.

Design and engineering

It sits between the city-car segment Wuling created and the conventional small hatchbacks sold by larger Chinese brands, and it sold well enough at home to justify export. Assembly runs in Liuzhou and at partner plants in Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, where it is offered under local badges. A slightly larger Bingo Plus followed. Its role in the range is straightforward: keeping buyers inside the brand once they can afford something better.
