Brand History
The XPeng Story
XPeng Motors is a Chinese electric vehicle maker founded in 2014 in Guangzhou by He Xiaopeng, a software entrepreneur who had sold his browser company UCWeb to Alibaba. Positioned as a technology-driven brand, XPeng emphasized in-house advanced driver-assistance software and smart cockpit features, launching models such as the G3 SUV and P7 sedan. The company listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2020 and later formed a partnership with Volkswagen, which took a stake in 2023 to co-develop EVs for China.
