Origins

The M8 of 2025 slotted precisely beneath the M9's triumph: a slightly smaller full-size family SUV carrying the same Huawei technology stack — ADS assistance, HarmonyOS cabin — at prices opening under the flagship, aimed at the vast demand the M9 had validated but priced beyond. Pre-orders accumulated in headline volumes before launch; deliveries scaled with Seres's expanding Chongqing capacity. The M8's role was harvest: converting the brand equity the M9 built into the fatter volume band below it, boxing out rivals across the premium-family segment. In the AITO arc it marks consolidation — the partnership no longer proving a concept but administering a franchise. Franchises are administered in the volume bands, and the M8 was built to collect there.
