Origins

Introduced in 2025, the 06 sits at the bottom of the range as a mid-size four-door, with a station wagon variant badged 06T that is a genuine rarity in a domestic market that buys very few estates.

Design and engineering

The formula is by now established: Huawei's cockpit software and driver assistance, Changan's manufacturing at Chongqing, and a choice between a battery-electric drivetrain with rear or dual motors and a range extender using the group's 1.5-litre turbocharged four. It is the model intended to take the brand into higher volumes at lower prices. Its reception will help decide how far the Changan-Huawei-CATL triumvirate's ambitions can stretch down-market. The market's answer, either way, will arrive at the sector's usual merciless speed.
