Origins
The Arrow, shown in 2016, announced Apollo Automobil — the Hong Kong-backed successor to insolvent Gumpert — with a statement of continuity and escalation: a mid-engined machine claiming 1,000 horsepower from a twin-turbo Audi-derived V8, styled with aggression that made the old Apollo look diplomatic, and targeted at the hypercar tier the original had stalked from Altenburg. It remained essentially a running concept — the production energies soon pivoting to the naturally aspirated Intensa Emozione — but served its structural purpose: capital, credibility and direction for the reborn marque. The Arrow thus occupies the archive as transition artefact: Roland Gumpert's downforce religion inherited, rebranded, and aimed at a wilder decade. Concept cars rarely rescue companies; the Arrow effectively did, by proving the name still commanded attention.
