Origins
The Ace of 2014 returned Ariel to its origins — the name had adorned motorcycles for most of a century before the car revival — with a machine built on Atom logic: a machined-aluminium frame exposed as sculpture, Honda's proven 1.2-litre V4 from the VFR at its heart, and radical customer configurability, from girder front ends to seating geometry, each bike assembled to order in Somerset. It was expensive, exquisite and deliberately rare, aimed at riders who valued engineering visibility the way Atom drivers did. Production remained boutique-scale alongside the cars. The Ace completed Ariel's identity circle: a company reborn from a bicycle-and-motorcycle heritage brand proving its philosophy — structure as beauty, sensation as specification — translated intact across wheel counts.
