Origins

The B30 of 2015 completed Besturn's saloon ladder at the entry rung: a compact three-box for first-time buyers and ride-hailing fleets, engineered to cost with the group's proven components. It arrived as the segment itself began contracting — SUV preference eroding sedan demand annually — and sold accordingly: usefully at first, then thinly. The B30's timing illustrates the industry's structural pivot mid-decade, when product planners' five-year assumptions about Chinese sedan appetite aged in eighteen months. Bestune's subsequent reinvention around crossovers and the T-series turbo range read the correction: the B30 was the last conventional bet of the brand's first strategy. Few segments punished slow readers harder than China's vanishing sedan floor. Its fleet buyers, at least, got exactly the durability the spreadsheet promised.
