Origins

The 560 of 2015 caught China's SUV explosion at the exact price point where it detonated: a compact crossover with family space, acceptable polish and a sticker that undercut every joint-venture rival, delivered through SGMW's inland dealer blanket. Sales erupted — hundreds of thousands annually within two years, ranking among the country's best-selling SUVs and making Baojun the industry's astonishment story. The 560's success rewrote assumptions about how cheaply credible family metal could be productionised, and competitors' response defined the segment's brutal late-decade economics. It remains the brand's high-water mark: the moment value engineering, correctly aimed, briefly outsold almost everything in the world's largest market. Its buyers' verdict was arithmetic, delivered monthly, in six figures.
