Origins
Medium-duty trucks are bought by body builders as much as by drivers, and the M2 was designed with that in mind. Replacing the FL-series in June 2002, it used a set-back front axle, a short sloping hood and a deep windscreen to give the visibility that matters in city work, and a clean, uncluttered frame behind the cab so that refuse bodies, utility cranes, tankers, fire apparatus and school bus conversions could be mounted without expensive modification.
