Origins
The Kairui of 2018 aligned King Long's light range with the new-energy mandate: electric light vans and minibuses for the urban logistics and shuttle fleets that Chinese policy was converting wholesale. The company's electric transit leadership — thousands of battery buses in global service — lent the small end credibility and shared componentry. The Kairui thus rode the same wave that made Chinese commercial EVs the world's volume laboratory. History will file it among the fleet-electrification's foot soldiers: unremarked vehicles whose duty cycles, not their designs, proved the technology's economics. Policy made the market; products like this merely had to show up qualified. Fleet depots, not showrooms, absorbed the volumes — which is where China's electric transition actually happened first.
